The Nativity Fast & Kiahk

We are thankful to God that He has brought us to another Advent season to prepare and remind us of the birth of Christ.
Within the 43 days of the Advent fast, is the Coptic month of Kiahk (Christmas is celebrated Kiahk 29th which coincides with Jan. 7th, except in a leap year).
Centuries ago, the Church dedicated this month to focusing on St. Mary the Theotokos and the immaculate birth of Christ, by adding hymns (similar to folk songs) to the midnight praises.  These hymns teach the dogma and theology of our true faith in God and His Incarnation. All these hymns are composed directly from the Bible, per the interpretations of the Apostolic Fathers, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
These services take place the eves of the four Sundays prior to Christmas on January 7th (Kiahk 29th, except in a leap year). Please join us for all the services and check the website for services on these Holy Days.
