Global Coptic Day 2023

St. Mary and St. Athanasius will be joining all the Coptic Churches in celebrating World Coptic Day on June 1.  This also celebrates the Feast of our Lord’s entry into Egypt.  We invite all our Parishioners and families to participate by filming a 1-2 minute video about a Coptic Pope/Patriarch from the first ten centuries of the Coptic Church (from the first 63 Popes of the Coptic Church) and how the Coptic Pope/Patriarch’s life impacted their spiritual life. We will have a first, second, and third place award, but gifts will be given to all participants. The deadline to submit videos is May 28, 2023, and winners will be announced the following Sunday.  The goal of the competition is to unite Copts worldwide and celebrate the rich heritage of our Coptic Orthodox Church.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about the early Patriarchs of our church as well as unite families by working together on the video.

Please submit your video to globalcopticday@smsanj.org
